Black All Year
In October 2021, I once again found myself being asked to speak about racism and being a Black female leader at a series of Black History Month events and, once again, I wished that people would show this much interest in Black issues, challenges and successes at other times of the year. I was frustrated that people only wanted to talk about these things during one month and yet people are Black all year round. I'd mentioned this a few times in previous years to others, hoping that something would come of it, but nothing did. So, I decided to do something about it myself.
After a few false starts and some serious thinking about what was achievable with very limited resources, I started Black All Year. Initially, this was just going to be a series of one hour webinars but I realised that it would be sensible to record them so they could reach a greater audience via YouTube. I then thought that if they were recorded as video, we could also use the audio and make it into a podcast, and there you go, that's how the Black All Year podcast was created.
This podcast will feature the recordings of the Black All Year events but will also have some exclusive, podcast only material.
